5:30PM Doors
I have no idea how this happened but I finished writing this entry already and it didn't publish.
So now all of the writing is gone...at least the pictures are there I guess?
Starting over.
Today is 4/25.
This is tiring, haha.
Anyway.
Woke up around 5:30AM to go to mass at OC cathedral at 6:15AM.
Ugh I should take my time writing this but I don't want to write it again.
I'll try...
It was only ~15 mins away from Huy's house.
The mass wasn't held in the main building but a side building.
It was pretty nice though, spacious and lots of glass.
By the end of mass, the sun was coming up so it was pretty and dreamy.
We went to Target after that to get an umbrella since Lauren wasn't with us hahha.
That should really be at the top of the list if you have to wait in line for a ridiculous amount of time.
Especially when I'm not trying to get burned in the California sun, lmao.
Waited for about half an hour since Target opened at 8AM.
Just talked in the car and prepped things.
We spent about 20 mins in there.
I picked up an umbrella and a case of water while they got other stuff.
We got to the venue around 8:30AM and got in line for GA.
We pretty much started at the south entrance and the wristbands were being done at the north side.
Received this banner while we were in line.
I got to talk to some people from discord while I walked around too.
It took 4 hours just to get our wristbands.
After that, I went to buy another V2 bomb for Be.
And then kinda wandered, sat in the car, etc while Be and Diana got in line for the BTS studio.
Got some free stickers from a fanartist, Save Me MV style!
She was dressed as Jimin from the Young Forever album Day concept photos with the red beret.
So cute!
Saw a cosplayer as Jimin from Spring Day.
At some point noticed that my V2 bomb had a crack in it lmao.
Probably have to glue that back.
The other two finally finished with the studio and took a nap in the car.
I went to go pick up the unofficial lightstick and saw people handing these project cards out.
I got a full set for each of us and since they just told us to take them I grabbed a bunch extra too.
Also got a free fanart postcard from someone.
Pics of all those at the end.
I actually collected a bunch and knew I was missing some so I decided to go back for more.
Which was totally easy lmao.
(Unfortunately, the project didn't work out though. Which...I kind of could predict since it was unheard of before coming here and the lyrics are hard/people probably don't know it. And they really should have put the instructions on it.)
It was like 4PM when I was doing this.
Took these around 5PM.
We went to get in line ~ 4:45PM or so.
They had signs for probably every 100 or so wristband numbers so we were in order.
It was pretty well organized.
I love this pic with this filter.
I'm pretty sure there was supposed to be a Tae filter but it was only an hour and we missed it.
Brought in: lanyard with plastic case, phone, card case, car key, slogan. Ticket!
Wore the Born Singer project card.
Kind of matching with my discord role color!
I ended up tying my jacket around my waist the whole time since it was so warm so that was good.
Gave me some extra pockets since I forgot that I needed to take my phone case off to make this work.
I put my phone in the plastic case on the lanyard so I could jump around and not worry about it too much.
Card case went in a closed pocket in the jacket and so did phone case.
It worked pretty well except my neck was a little strained from the lanyard and phone.
Maybe a short crossbody strap would work.
Took this pic from the back of the pit at 6:42PM.
So it took about 1h15 to get inside since they started letting people in from 5:30PM.
From where I took this picture, it looked like there was about 6 people in front of me.
The first VCR.
This was taken at 8:11PM.
Not Today.
I stuck it out for maybe 10 seconds but I really couldn't see anything.
If I turned around, there was basically no one behind me on the left so the pit on that side wasn't that deep.
There was a girl behind me to the right that kept pushing on me though and it was awkward for me lmao.
I already decided that I would go to the back anyway and that's what I did.
So much more comfortable and I was still able to really enjoy it by myself.
This pic is when I was still standing close to the stage.
Their entrance is so cool.
Now standing in the middle-ish of the pit.
This is probably introductions.
My. Man.
(hahahah)
Am I Wrong.
Oh my god it took a while to figure out but the picture below is from Am I Wrong.
And then I have no idea after that but I just chose the nicest ones.
Baepsae.
Dope.
Ugh, Yoongi, yes.
VCR.
Again, these were so beautifully done.
The BGM is always so amazing.
Begin.
I love taking these -person in the distance- shots.
The green goes well with him cough Rainism.
Lie.
The lighting is incredible.
First Love.
I don't have any pics.
Just taking him in like the day before.
Oh I just remembered I actually held the slogan up a little bit but he probably wouldn't see it from where I was lmao.
Lost.
First time seeing them pretty close up.
I think the pictures make it look like I was farther away but I could see their faces really clearly.
I really loved seeing Jungkook crack a smirk at the last chorus.
Everyone was so professional and great but his smile really made the song for me.
I like seeing them smile and have fun!
Hmmm I forgot what I wrote last time.
I'll come back...
Ah!
It was that I had a really nice spot because I was directly in front of the center formation.
It was really nice because I could move around freely where I was standing.
Every time one of them was center, when they look out to the audience it felt like they were looking right at me.
I guess that's why it was extra nice when Jungkook was smiling because it felt like we were enjoying it together.
Save Me.
First time seeing Suga close up.
Every time he was nearby I could not take my eyes off of him.
Well I was constantly looking for him so I guess that was pretty much all the time.
I was stuck between holding the slogan up or taking pictures.
I wanted him to see his name in the crowd so I held it up every time I saw him looking into the audience.
So I have next to no pictures of him but I mean, it's okay.
My eyes will forget but my heart won't, lmao.
Corny as fuck but oh well.
I Need U.
VCR.
I love this Path/Road remix so much, I just need to say it again.
Jungkook's voice. So good.
Reflection.
I cried again.
This time he changed the end to "I guess that we love ourselves" and "I hope I can love myself".
It made me so emotional.
I was able to catch the background images this time and there was a whale.
It was so beautiful.
He is so beautiful.
Thank you, Namjoon.
Stigma.
MAMA.
I was supposed to really look at the background images this time because I knew from watching Seoul that there was some great Hobi baby pics but he was so close I just forgot!
Awake.
I really love when they do purple lighting like this.
The background for the staging was really pretty too.
Cypher 4.
So much fun.
The most fun stage for me.
When the beat drops, everything shakes and I even felt it in my chest.
Having the music all around you is such an experience.
I knew that Suga was going to enter from the right side so I ran over there to be in front of him with the slogan.
I kind of followed him back and forth with it lmao.
Now that I think about it that's probably kind of weird but oh well.
It felt like he was always looking straight out so...here I am!
I had so much fun jumping around during the choruses.
There's this amazing clip of Suga throwing water and it rains down all around him when the spotlights flash, good lord.
Fire.
Ment, I believe.
N.O., No More Dream, Boy in Luv, Danger, Run.
During the last chorus for Run, there was a burst of gold streamers, I loved it so much.
It was probably somewhere around here that I held the slogan upside down for about half a song lmaoo.
They went back to the main stage.
Boy Meets Evil.
Blood Sweat & Tears.
No pictures of those, couldn't see anything hahha.
Rainbow Ocean again.
It's really beautiful.
Outro: Wings.
Another burst of small white paper confetti during the last chorus.
I almost didn't catch it in a picture!
This was when most of it already fell.
Ment.
Jin's love for ARMY.
Suga did the ARMYYYYYYYYYYYYY thing.
Be's pic from the barricade.
2!3!
Ahh, this image is so beautiful.
I loved singing this with them.
Spring Day.
I don't have any pictures but I was so overwhelmed during this song.
My heart felt so full but for a second, I realized it was the last song.
I started crying and almost sobbing but I was still so happy so I pulled it back and kept singing.
I'm regretting it a little now that I didn't take pictures during my last chance when they were walking around and waving goodbye.
There's always fancams, I guess!
The last image on the screen :)
Went to BCD Tofu in Garden Grove after with Lilly and Serena too.
I was so tired and also torn between discord and real life lmaoo.
The food was so good, wish I wasn't too tired to really enjoy it.
There were so many ARMYs there after the concert.
There was someone cosplaying Not Today RM there too.
Gosh this is an ugly picture.
All of the things that I picked up during the two days.
I love the Suga fan omg.
Unofficial lightstick.
Buttons from Lilly.
Hand-painted, wow.
I ended up with one extra bracelet and it happens to be MYG.
I also nicely packaged some confetti that I took from the floor!
Oh my God I just wrote some stuff here and it didn't save so I'm guessing it's the app that messes it up...
Okay so final remarks.
Cost.
I'll put the exact details here later since I wrote it all down on the spreadsheet.
I guess it's not that bad if I was paying for just myself but instead I paid for two people so it came out pretty crazy.
2 Concert Days.
Physically doable but...almost not doable.
Waiting in lines was exhausting.
I liked that we were seated the first day and in the pit the second day.
I knew what to expect and I think it was definitely worth it.
I think I just really need to figure out how to rest so that I don't totally kill myself trying to take care of other people.
I really loved doing the fan stuff like collecting goods, the BTS studio booth and other things.
And meeting friends.
I was totally stretched thin though, I need to chill.
GA.
I read a lot of horror stories but it wasn't bad from where I was in the back of the pit.
I think it's definitely worth it to be able to move freely.
Well for me anyway since I didn't care too much about getting close.
I was pretty close as can be though so I also liked that.
I'm wondering if it's better to have a seat and be able to see everything but it's also a little awkward to have to stay in one place so I dunno.
I think it's probably a good idea to get some taller but comfortable shoes but I have no idea what kind would be good!
Performance.
It might be the bias talking but I thought they were pretty perfect.
I've seen someone mention that they let the crowd sing for a lot of things but I only noticed that for maybe three instances.
One of them was Suga and I just kinda laughed at it, I expected it from him, honestly.
It's not a bad thing, just get the crowd to interact and it's even more fun.
But anyway, they really met my expectations with their charisma and skill.
I was definitely not disappointed.
I've mentioned all of the members a bit previously so I won't go into it but I guess I just want to talk about Yoongi a little more later lmao.
Taekook. Jin.
💜
Hobi.
I think all of the US tour stops can agree that he completely lit up the stage.
He was bursting with energy and we could all feel it.
Jimin.
Honestly, I could feel myself appreciate him so much more after watching his Lie performance the first day.
By now I think I've finally learned to love him in a way I hadn't been able to feel before.
I really like watching him dance, even over Hobi.
He just puts so much into it and I was moved by how strongly he performed.
He's also been very precious mochi etc so I've been looking at him fondly.
Namjoon.
This guy came out of nowhere and started bias wrecking.
But seriously, I just genuinely love to read what he writes and see what he likes and whatever's going on in his mind.
I feel like I relate to him a lot so I find myself inspired by him in particular.
His writing is always poetic and his music taste is interesting/good.
Erm I wasn't trying to go on about him this way but I just want to say I loved his solo performance so much.
Especially how he hears the fans.
Yoongi.
At this point I'm not even sure if I'm just making it up in my head but...
He was just... fiery, passionate.
They all are but I could never take my eyes off of him.
I've never really focused on just him when watching performances so this was pretty weird/new to me.
I noticed that he doesn't really seem to linger when looking around at the crowd and he mostly scans instead.
I was able to spot myself by finding the slogan in a fancam so I'll just believe that he definitely saw it!
I think it'd be nice to try to get closer and for sure make eye contact with him.
But just being able to watch him was really amazing anyway.
My favorite thing is probably watching him jump and dance around like in Cypher.
Definitely loved to see him clapping and tapping his foot during Wings.
And of course he does a silly dance during the dance break as well.
I can't believe he did the ARMYYYY thing too, I missed it since the mic didn't pick it up very well but oh my heart.
Watching the cams he spun around and jumped a lot and it's just so nice that he's so happy.
I can't remember exactly what I said last time but...
When I was writing I was thinking about what he means to me and I just finally realized that he is also such a big inspiration to me.
I was always able to directly identify that with Namjoon but it's a little different with Yoongi.
Just one of those things that you know well but can't explain.
Just one of those things that you know well but can't explain.
I love his sense of humor and his overall adorableness.
I admit I'm a little scared of his raw emotion in his music but it's so admirable.
I want to be able to open myself to be comfortable with emotions.
The fact that he's straight forward about it is amazing.
I want to be able to work on a dream and keep doing better like he does.
He's just a lot of things that I want to be.
I guess I could say the difference between Namjoon and Yoongi to me is that NJ is this creative inspiration whereas YG is...motivation.
But anyway.
Yoongi, thank you.
You make me laugh and cry and everything in between.
You make me laugh and cry and everything in between.
I love you.
I hope you're well wherever you are.
BTS, thank you.
I'll always cheer you on.
Be brave, stay healthy, do what you love.
Have fun.
Thank you for bringing all of these people together.
Thank you for bringing all of these people together.
Sending you love.
I'll keep going, too.
We'll fly.
